This week is the first week after the barely discernible sembreak. Classes, yet again, is officially ON.
Back to work.
The clock is officially ticking.
Second Sem came. Thinking of it, the creeps of taking the board exam, being out of school, no baon, departing from classmates and friends, brood over me! The upcoming graduates will unavoidably graduate soon (hopefully).
Yesterday we had a cataract patient due for an eye operation. She frequently calls me just for reassurance that her needs are properly attended and just to ask “Matagal pa ba?”, “Ako na ba?”, “Oras na ba ng gamot?” and that went on for about two hours I guess. Even though Im just beside her she keeps on calling my name loudly. I can still hear her “ MAJAAA!!” call. She reminded me of my mama. =) I kind of view her as my mother masquerading as a patient. Haha.
She’s annoying yet hard to be annoyed at. Hehe.. Early in our conversation her earlier antipathy has been so undisguised, but as our conversation progressed I appreciate her more. She’s really a sweet old woman.
Patients come and go. Some, we remember, most we forget.
Part of the advantages of being a nurse, I guess, is being able to mingle with different types of people. Though I hate the line of work I chose. Loving it is not that hard.
